Village Spring Clean

Thank you to all those who helped with the Village Spring Clean. 10 volunters in Benenden and 5 at Iden Green gathered a staggering amoung of rubbish from the verges of the major roads around the village.

Thank you to Benenden's Community Shop for helping to provide an incentive of a drink and cake to the helpers. The staff coped admirably with the additional hungry workers on what was an already busy Saturday morning.

Tesco community funding

Groundwork is running  a Green Space Grant programme, funded through the 5p charge for carrier bags at Tesco which will fund thousands of green space projects across England, Wales and Scotland.

The application window closed  for the first round on the 11th of December 12noon, grants have  been awarded from February 2016.

The funding window opened again on 18th  April  2016 and will close on the 3rd June 12 noon.

Road Closure, Woodcock Lane

The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991


Kent County Council gives notice that Woodcock Lane, Benenden will be closed to through traffic, on or after 10th June 2016 for up to 3 days.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Standen Street and Ramsden Lane.

Road Closures

Road Closure - Mount Le Hoe, Benenden – 6th May 2016

It will be necessary to close Mount Le Hoe, Benenden from 6th May 2016.

It is likely the road will be closed for up to 3 days.

It is planned the road will be closed between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00.

The entire length of the carriageway will be closed.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

This is to enable Carriageway patching works. to be carried out by Kent Highways And Transportation.
