PROPOSED BENENDEN VILLAGE TRUST

Consultation on the proposed Benenden Village Trust

We, the Village Assets Group formed as part of the Parish Plan, recommended that a new Charity should be set up called the Benenden Village Trust. We have now prepared its Constitution in draft for approval by the HMT trustee (the Parish Council) prior to an application to the Charity Commission to set it up. We would also like to take into consideration any views that villagers may wish to express.

WHY set up a new Trust?

Village Spring Clean

Thank you to all those who helped with the Village Spring Clean. 10 volunters in Benenden and 5 at Iden Green gathered a staggering amoung of rubbish from the verges of the major roads around the village.

Thank you to Benenden's Community Shop for helping to provide an incentive of a drink and cake to the helpers. The staff coped admirably with the additional hungry workers on what was an already busy Saturday morning.

Tesco community funding

Groundwork is running  a Green Space Grant programme, funded through the 5p charge for carrier bags at Tesco which will fund thousands of green space projects across England, Wales and Scotland.

The application window closed  for the first round on the 11th of December 12noon, grants have  been awarded from February 2016.

The funding window opened again on 18th  April  2016 and will close on the 3rd June 12 noon.
