Planning System Upgrades – Impacts on Website and Consultations

Starting on 6 November 2015 and running through to 8 February 2016 a programme of upgrades to IDox products at Maidstone, Swale and Tunbridge Wells Borough Councils will be delivered.  As a consequence of this there will be times where the Planning Public Access website, where people access planning application information and documents, and comment on applications, will be unavailable.

Babies of Benenden Group - Volunteers Sought

Dear Benenden Village Resident,

To show support to the ‘mums and dads to be’ in our community, we are setting up a meal delivery service offering community support and good will to the families of new born babies in Benenden.

At this very exciting, but often exhausting time, a delicious home cooked meal delivered to your door could be a much needed and very welcome gift from our community.

NHS Kent and Medway Stroke Review - Deliberative Events

Kent and Medway Stroke Review: Get Involved!

NHS Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) want to improve NHS stroke services and are looking at how these services are currently provided across the area, especially but not exclusively during the hyper-acute phase (the first 72 hours). This builds on work conducted in west Kent at the end of last year, and listening events held during the summer.

We are running events, known as deliberative events, either in Ashford and Maidstone, on 19th and 20th November and 11th December.

Benenden Magazine - Advertising Manager needed

The new editorial team are urgently seeking a volunteer to join them to co-ordinate all advertisements in the magazine and to seek new business.

The job will involve just a few hours each month and will eventually pay a small sum as commission for new business. You really don't need any previous experience...just enthusiasm!

Many advertisers subscribe annually and are signed up until March of next year, but some place adverts each month.

Benenden Magazine

The Benenden Parish Magazine is being revamped and will be re-launched for the October edition as Benenden Magazine.  It’s a result of responses to the Parish Plan survey last year.  People said they wanted more and better communication about village life and events.  So the new expanded magazine is a joint venture between St George’s Parochial Church Council and Benenden Parish Council.  A free copy will be delivered to every house in the village and other copies should be available in village shops and pubs.

Message from Tunbridge Wells Borough Council

Most of you will be aware of the current unauthorised encampment at The Ridgewaye, Southborough. This is the same group of vehicles that were evicted last week from Turner Avenue, Cranbrook.

The Travellers are today on the move again having been served notice by STC and TWBC, and having been warned by police that if they don’t leave when the notice period expires the police will use their powers to evict them from the land.

There have been a number of incidents locally of rocks being thrown from a moving vehicle into the windscreen of oncoming vehicles. This has resulted in smashed windscreens and injury to the drivers. The offending vehicle has been described by one victim as a brown Mercedes sprinter van and by another as a UPS van. There are obviously further enquiries to be made and the PCSOs have been told to be on the lookout for the van. If you witness or are involved in any such incidents please report them to the police.
