New Play Area

Following planning permission being granted for the extension of the village hall car park, the children's play area is to be moved further along the field.  As the current equipment is rather dated, the Harmsworth Memorial Trust is looking to replace this equipment and is keen to hear of suggestions for what equipment it should be replaced with.  Please send your comments to  This type of equipment is expensive and therefore it is crucial that the right combination of new equipment is chosen.

Helen Grant, Member of Parliament for Maidstone and the Weald, and Nicky Morgan, Secretary of State for Education celebrated the news that Benenden Church of England and Primary and High Weald Academy in Cranbrook have received funding under the second tranche of the Priority Schools Building Programme (PSBP2) on a joint visit today.

Theft of Oil

There have been a number of thefts of oil from properties in the area surrounding Benenden.  This type of crime is more prevalent at this time of year so please be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to the police on 101.
